Known locally as the 'Hotel', the pub has benefited from an impressive makeover during the last couple of years. The existing render has been stripped back to reveal the original brickwork. There is a smart restaurant, which serves the locally reared wagyu beef, and a spacious public bar. The Abermule has recently (2015) reverted back to a freehouse after a period under Hophouse Inns management. There is a small caravan park and camping area at the rear of the building. Now the only remaining pub in the village after the demise of the nearby Waterloo Arms.
